Tehillim Recitation

One of the central tenets of Judaism is that tefillah – prayer – has the capacity to influence the outcome of even the most desperate of situations. In an effort to tap into the power of tefillah, Ten Yad of Ottawa has  formed a Chevrei Tehillim Team. The Chevrei Tehillim Team stands ready to offer support and comfort to those individuals who are facing a critical medical situation, in the prayerful hope that this effort will help “tip the balance” in favour of a good and sustained outcome.

The Chevrei Tehillim Team(CTT) is comprised of a group of 30 committed individuals along with 15 “back-up” partners who will recite the complete Sefer Tehillim (Book of Psalms) in the merit of an individual who undergoes a serious or critical surgical procedure – either requiring general anesthetic or for which it would be appropriate to “bentch gomel”(thanksgiving blessing). Tehillim will be recited on the day of a procedure as well as the following day(s) if necessary.

The program is intended for Ottawa residents and while the Ten Yad Office will have to be advised of the nature of the procedure to determine whether it conforms to the Ten Yad mandate, the information will be treated with absolute confidentiality. The CTT reciting the Tehillim will not be privy to this information.

The CTT will also be activated in the event, G-d forbid, developments le’ma’an Eretz Yisrael require more intensive supplications for Chasdei Ha’Shem.

Please contact the Ten Yad office if you require the support of the CTT. May we share only be’soros tovos – good news and good times…
